Lionel Chin has an extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Lionel currently serves as the Managing Director at Amity Solutions (formerly Eko), a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to that, they were the SVP and Head of Product & Engineering at Amity from July 2020 to August 2023. Before joining Amity, Lionel worked at Eko, where they held multiple positions including VP and Head of Engineering from June 2019 to July 2020, Director of Engineering from September 2018 to July 2020, and Senior Product Manager from June 2017 to July 2020.

Before their time at Amity and Eko, Lionel worked at the New Zealand Customs Service as the Manager of the Business Analysis Team for the Border Management Programme from October 2014 to July 2017. Lionel was responsible for managing a team of business analysts and engineers, facilitating meetings and workshops, project management, and setting standards for the team's work.

Prior to that, Lionel worked at Inland Revenue NZ as the Manager of the Business Analyst Team from May 2011 to October 2014. Lionel played a key role in the Child Support Reform Project, providing leadership to a group of business analysts, supporting staff and management, managing relationships with stakeholders, and managing risk and finance.

Lionel also worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Victoria University of Wellington, where they were involved in managing enrollments and delivering enhancements to the enterprise Banner application from 2010 to 2011. Lionel started their career at the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) as a Business Analyst, IT Delivery Lead, and Scrum Master from 2006 to 2010, and before that, they worked as a Client Support Analyst at Victoria University of Wellington from 2005 to 2006, providing day-to-day support to clients and identifying problems.

Lionel Chin obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Administration, majoring in Information System and Electronic Commerce, from Victoria University of Wellington in 2006. In 2013, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at the same university. Additionally, they completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Victoria University of Wellington in 2015.
