Maciek Lukawski

Maciek Lukawski has a wealth of experience in the energy industry. Maciek is currently the Head of Strategy and Business Development and Head of Market Development at Amogy, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were an M&A Advisor and Senior Process Research Engineer - Gas Monetization at ExxonMobil from 2018-2022. From 2015-2018, they held various positions at ExxonMobil, Cornell University, SunEdison, and Lund University. At Cornell University, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher - Demand Response & Data Center Energy Management from 2010-2018, where they achieved an 8% reduction in the cost of electricity used for cooling data centers, led analysis of deployment of ground source heat pumps across 10,000+ Verizon cellular towers, and published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and 2 book chapters cited 600+ times. Maciek was also a Ph.D. Candidate - Chemical Engineering / Energy, Fulbright Fellow from 2010-2015, where they led design study of a hybrid geothermal - natural gas - biomass energy system for Cornell University, advised President of Cornell University on energy transition, and developed and optimized techno-economic models of integrated energy systems including geothermal, solar, biomass, and natural gas. At ExxonMobil, they were a Summer Research Intern - Process & Risk from 2015-2016 and a Summer Research Intern - LNG from 2014-2015. At SunEdison, they were a Consultant - Solar PV & Storage from 2013-2014. Finally, at Lund University, they were a Visiting Researcher - Building Energy Systems from 2010-2013, where they achieved a 5% reduction in cost of heat delivered to a cluster of residential buildings in Sweden by creating and deploying an optimization algorithm for controlling circulation pumps.

Maciek Lukawski earned a B.S/M.S. in Energy Engineering from the AGH University of Science and Technology between 2005 and 2010. Maciek then attended Háskóli Íslands to receive an M.S. in Renewable Energy Science between 2008 and 2009. Finally, they earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University between 2010 and 2016.
