Iyappan Subramanian

Iyappan Subramanian has over 20 years of work experience in the tech industry. Iyappan has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise in software engineering, design, and development.

Iyappan'smost recent position was as a Principal Software Engineer at Ampere, where they focused on AI/ML performance optimizations and worked on projects involving computer vision, NLP, ASR, and open-source technologies.

Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft as a Design Engineer, where they designed the reference model for the RemoteFx codec, a video compression technology used for desktop remoting. In this role, they also wrote test plans, automated regression environments, and verified design functionalities.

At HCL, Iyappan served as a Technical Specialist and worked on the development of software tools for Mindspeed Networks, involving design, implementation, testing, and bug-fixing.

Iyappan also held positions at Atrenta, Inc as a Lead Engineer, where they enhanced and maintained the Interra Jaguar VHDL Compiler, and at Pluris, Inc as a Member Technical Staff, where they verified FPGA and wrote test cases for the Ingress Ethernet Packet Demultiplexer.

Iyappan's early career included roles at Zaiq Technologies, Inc. as a Consultant, where they developed various tools and upgraded Design Verification Tools, and at Mentor Graphics Corporation and Spike Technologies, where they focused on software development and VHDL parsing respectively.

Iyappan'sfirst job was at Arasan Chip Systems as an EDA Tool Design Engineer, where they developed a VHDL Parser, implemented IPC functionality, and handled portability issues.

Iyappan Subramanian has a B.E. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Govt. Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 1993 to 1997. Iyappan then pursued an M.S. degree in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani from 2003 to 2005. In 2011, they completed coursework at Stanford University in Design and Analysis of Algorithms. In 2018, Iyappan obtained a Deep Learning Certificate from the University of San Francisco, concentrating in Artificial Intelligence.
