Jean Ruggiero has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in data science and engineering.
In 2014, Jean worked at Boeing as a Flight Test Engineer, where they were responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on flight tests for verification and certification of airplane systems. They also served as the Fuels and APU flight test focal for the 777X program and the Flight deck visualization focal.
From 2018 to 2019, Jean worked as a Product Manager at Boeing, managing the development of software for executing computations on large datasets in real-time. They also conducted user research to identify pain points and developed a Python application to extract, analyze, and visualize data.
In 2020, Jean worked at Fortive as a Data Scientist. They built and deployed a cloud-native document layout analysis tool using PyTorch, Django, and React. They also developed customer churn models for subscription-based businesses and experimented with deep learning approaches for demand forecasting.
During the same year, Jean also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Northeastern University. They coached students during office hours, led online review sessions, and generated practice problem sets and assignment solutions for the Discrete Math and Data Structures course.
Most recently, Jean joined Amperity as a Senior Data Scientist in 2023.
Prior to their professional career, Jean held a Co-Op Engineer position at Rolls-Royce Corporation, where they worked on projects related to future programs performance and lift fan manufacturing. They also worked at Mountainside Public Library as a Page, organizing and shelving materials, answering reference inquiries, and implementing more efficient methods for administrative tasks.
Jean Ruggiero has a diverse educational background. Jean completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 2014. Following that, Jean pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University, which they completed in 2021.
In 2018, they obtained a certificate in Python Programming from the University of Washington, showing their commitment to expanding their programming skills. Additionally, in 2019, they took continuing education courses at the University of Washington to further enhance their knowledge.
Prior to their undergraduate studies, Jean attended Union County Magnet High School from 2006 to 2010, focusing on Engineering & Technology.
Jean also holds a certification as a Certified Mechanical Drafter, which they obtained in 2008 from the American Design and Drafting Association.
