Aaron Huey

Founder And Creative Director at Amplifier

Aaron Huey is an accomplished photographer and creative director with extensive experience in visual media. Since October 2005, Aaron has worked with the National Geographic Society, contributing over 30 features and receiving three grants as a National Geographic Explorer. As the founder and creative director of Amplifier since November 2010, Aaron has focused on amplifying grassroots movements through art and community engagement. Aaron served as a contributing artist and editor for Harper's Magazine from January 2011 to May 2023, and held teaching fellow positions at Stanford University, developing educational curricula in Web3 and community storytelling tools. Additional roles include media design fellow at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design and masthead photographer for National Geographic Adventure. Aaron holds a BFA in Painting/Printmaking from the University of Denver and has studied at Škola úžitkového výtvarníctva in Bratislava.
