Patrick Helvensteijn

Patrick Helvensteijn has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Patrick is currently serving as the Finance Director (CFO) at Ampowr since September 2022.

Prior to this, Patrick worked at OMV GAS from March 2018 to August 2022 as the Finance Manager NL/BE. During their tenure, they established the finance function within the local sales organization and played a significant role in founding OMV Gas Marketing & Trading Belgium. Patrick also fostered strong ties between the Finance Manager role and the Austrian head office.

From May 2016 to January 2018, Patrick worked at Zenith Energy Amsterdam Terminal B.V. as the European Financial Manager Planning Support. Patrick was responsible for controlling multiple investment projects aimed at transforming the former BP terminal into a third-party commercial terminal. Patrick also handled budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for project progress and expenditure.

In addition, Patrick served as a Financial Controller (volunteer) at De Energiebank from April 2016 to December 2016, where they defined and established financial processes to professionalize the organization.

From October 2014 to May 2016, Patrick worked at RWE in various roles including Senior Project Controller / Finance Business Lead and Project Manager SAP. Patrick developed complex spreadsheets and presentations for budget tracking and supported effective project financial management. Patrick also led a project team focusing on system, process, and organizational improvements.

Prior to RWE, Patrick worked at Acquion as a Controller from February 2004 to November 2007, where they successfully set up the in-house accounting and finance function and conducted daily accounting for multiple entities.

Patrick started their career at Shell Finance Services as a Financial Accountant from May 2001 to February 2004. Patrick managed accounting, controlling, consolidation, and treasury functions for various Shell E&P companies in Russia.

Before Shell, Patrick worked at AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings as a Commercial Administrative Employee from March 1999 to April 2001. Patrick managed regional relations within Southeast Asia, handled customer account management in SAP, and calculated customer-specific sales prices.

Patrick Helvensteijn has a strong education background with a focus on finance and management. Patrick attended Het Vlietland College for high school from 1988 to 1992. After that, they pursued an Associate's Degree in Retail Management / Small business and retail management at Holtlant College from 1992 to 1996. Patrick then furthered their studies at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from 1997 to 2001. In 2009, Patrick attended NCOI Opleidingen for a Masterclass Financial Control. Patrick also holds additional certifications, including "Reputation Risk Management" from LinkedIn and "Certified Scrum Master (CSM)" from Scrum Alliance, obtained in 2021 and 2015, respectively.
