Gerald Kaendler currently serves as Chair of the ENTSO-E System Development Committee since January 2020, having previously held the position of Vice Chair. Additionally, Gerald Kaendler has been with Amprion since October 2009, currently directing Asset Management with a focus on energy transition challenges, long-term grid development, life cycle management, and budget control. Prior experience includes directing Asset Management at RWE Transportnetz Strom GmbH from 2003 to 2009, where processes such as Grid Design and public permitting procedures for high-voltage power lines were implemented, and serving as Senior Manager of Grid Strategy at RWE Netz AG from 2001 to 2003, where the Asset Management System and grid strategy were developed. Gerald Kaendler holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Elektrotechnik und Elektronik from RWTH Aachen University, completed in 1993.
