Jim O'Farrell

Jim O'Farrell has extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Jim currently serves as the President & CEO of Advanced Management Strategies Group (AMSG), a management and technology consulting firm. Jim has been with AMSG since 2010, initially starting as the President & Chief Operating Officer before assuming their current role. In this capacity, they lead a team of over 180 professionals and oversees the provision of services to both government and private sector clients.

Prior to their current role, Jim held various positions in different organizations. Jim was a CEOcircle Member at Bunker Labs, a select group for growth-stage companies funded by JP Morgan Chase. Jim also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Applied Knowledge Group, a management and IT consultancy, from 2006 to 2010.

Before that, Jim was the Director of Business Development at Portal Dynamics, where they were responsible for sales, marketing, and account management. Jim played a pivotal role in identifying market needs and forging partnerships to enhance client operations.

Jim's earlier experiences include working as a Manager at American Management Systems, collaborating with the Defense Department on strategic plans, and serving as a Senior Consultant at Electronic Data Systems. Jim also held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, KPMG Consulting, AT&T, and the US Navy, where they served as a Lieutenant in the Supply Corps.

Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership, business development, and client engagement in the management consulting and technology sectors.

Jim O'Farrell obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1989. Jim then pursued an On-Campus Certificate Program in Business and Financial Management at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in 1993. In 1994, they completed their MBA at Averett University. In 2008, Jim participated in the Leadership Development Program (LDP) at the Center for Creative Leadership. Prior to their higher education, they attended Annapolis High School from 1980 to 1983.
