Shaquana Folks has held a variety of roles in the past decade, starting with a Sales Associate role at RITE AID in 2006. In 2010, they were a Storyboard Illustrator at Engine 256 Filmworks, and a Graphic Design Intern at the Kings County District Attorney's Office. In 2012, they were a Freelance Graphic Designer for the Council of Urban Professionals, an Assistant Sales Representative for Creative Channel Services, and a Graphic Design Intern for Graphic Business Solutions. From 2013 to 2018, they held roles such as a Site Supervisor and Peer Mentor at the Federation of Italian American Organizations of Brooklyn, Ltd., and from 2014 to 2018, they held multiple roles at the New York Amsterdam News, including Classified Ad Sales Representative, Production Management Assistant, Graphic Designer/Page Layout Designer/Advertising Assistant, and Front Desk Receptionist. In 2018, they began their current role as Art Director at Finch College Alumni Association Foundation.
Shaquana Folks completed their Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) in Business Administration and Management, General at Kingsborough Community College from 2005 to 2006. Shaquana then went on to pursue their Bachelor of Communication Design in Graphic Design at CUNY New York City College of Technology from 2007 to 2011.
