Jetske van der Schaar is a PhD student at Amsterdam UMC - Alzheimer Center Amsterdam, focusing on the medical ethics of risk for Alzheimer's Disease since January 2020. Alongside this role, Jetske serves as a writer for Prometheus/Bert Bakker Publishers, working on a book about a rare hereditary form of early-onset Alzheimer's. As a co-founder of Xenit.co, innovative solutions are developed with a customer experience focus, and previously, Jetske held positions as Director of Marketing, Communication & ICT at Be More and Co-founder/Director at Worldmapping. Additional experiences include project management at Radio Netherlands Worldwide and a technical project management role at GX. Jetske also co-founded the charity Uthando and holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Radboud University.

Alzheimer Centrum Amsterdam is part of the Amsterdam University Medical Center and is physically located at the VUmc location on De Boelelaan. More than 100 employees work at the center. Every year they treat thousands of patients from all over the country. In addition to caring for patients, a large proportion of the employees are involved in conducting ant the implementation of research. Alzheimer Centrum Amsterdam is the diagnosis and treatment center for dementia, with a focus on dementia at a young age. Our mission is to make dementia negotiable, treatable and eventually heal.
