Robert Banniza

Robert Banniza has over 20 years of experience in information security and technology roles. Robert currently serves as the Associate Vice President - Information Security at AMSURG, where they developed and oversees a risk and compliance program for over 250 outpatient surgery centers. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director - IT Center Security at AMSURG, responsible for establishing and maintaining procedural and technical controls for the surgery centers.

Before joining AMSURG, Robert worked at Hospital Corporation of America as the Manager of Cyber Security, overseeing vulnerability reporting, threat mitigation, and incident handling for the company's global network. Robert also served as the Team Lead - Consulting Security Engineer, where they led a team responsible for security operations and the integration of UNIX/Linux systems into information security systems.

Earlier in their career, Robert worked at Ascension Health as a Senior UNIX Administrator, where they played a key role in the design and implementation of a fault-tolerant solution for the organization. Robert also worked at BlueStar Solutions as a Senior UNIX Administrator, focusing on the management of the company's ISP network.

Robert began their career as a Programmer/Analyst at both Focus Health and Service Merchandise, where they honed their programming and analytical skills.

Throughout their career, Robert has demonstrated expertise in risk and compliance management, security operations, network management, and UNIX system administration.

Robert Banniza has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Management Information Systems from Tennessee Technological University. Prior to their university education, they attended Brentwood High School.
