Steve Villarreal has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Steve started their career as a nurse in the US Army in 1979 and worked there until 1990. Steve then worked as a GI nurse at Methodist Health System and Alamo Nurses from 1990 to 1996. Steve served as a GI nurse at North Central Baptist Hospital from 1996 to 1999, where they also received training as a scrub tech for various procedures. Steve worked as a GI nurse at Florida Hospital from 1999 to 2001, assisting physicians in GI procedures. Steve then worked as a GI nurse at Medical Center of Plano from 2007 to 2010. Steve joined Memorial Hermann Health System as an Endoscopy RN from 2014 to 2015. Steve has primarily served as an RN and Center Director at Old Town Endoscopy Center/AmSurg since 2011 and at Woodlands Endoscopy Center since 2016.

Steve Villarreal completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Brookhaven/El Centro College, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Prior to this, they attended the US Army Academy of Health Sciences, FSH, Tx from 1977 to 1983, where they completed a Combat Medic/Practical nurse course specializing in Trauma/Nursing.
