Cate Kompare

Cate Kompare has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Cate is currently working as a Principal Experience Researcher at Amtrak since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Kin + Carta for almost seven years as a User Experience Researcher & Practice Leader. Cate also has experience as a User Experience Designer at Pixo from June 2013 to October 2016. Cate has also worked as a Graduate Student Assistant at the Visual Resources Center, Fine and Applied Art College, University of Illinois, and as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Cate started their career as an Administrative Assistant at The Santa Cruz Commission for the Prevention of Violence Against Women.

Cate Kompare completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2009. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2011 to 2013.
