Gregg Pierson

Gregg Pierson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the railway and transportation sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Propulsion at Amtrak since January 2023, Pierson previously held various management roles at Amtrak including Locomotive Fleet/Reliability Manager and Program Manager for PTC/I-ETMS Commissioning. Prior to rejoining Amtrak, Pierson was a Project Manager for Rolling Stock at Herzog Transit Services Inc. Between 1994 and 2008, Pierson gained valuable experience at GE Transportation in roles ranging from Project Manager for Locomotive Remanufacturing to Field Service Technical Advisor. Additionally, Pierson’s early career included underwater welding and commercial diving at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Pierson is an alumnus of the International Commercial Diving Institute, having studied there from 1995 to 1996.
