Thomas East

Thomas East is an experienced rail industry professional with a diverse background in operations and training. Currently serving as a part-time Conductor at Strasburg Rail Road Company since October 2022, Thomas has been instrumental in training new employees. Since January 2013, Thomas has held various positions at Amtrak, including Lead Technical Trainer and Road Foreman of Engines, focusing on the development of new conductors and engineers. Thomas is also a certified Locomotive Engineer with extensive qualifications across multiple territories and operating rules. Previous experience includes roles at Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad, Walt Disney World, and Georgetown Loop Railroad, where Thomas operated historic locomotives and contributed to training efforts. Thomas holds an Associate of Arts degree from Valencia College and a certification in Digital Video Production from Orlando Tech.
