Alistair Barnes

Alistair Barnes is a seasoned leader in the energy sector with over 30 years of experience. Currently serving as the Leader of the Energy Practice at AmWINS Group since November 2009, Alistair oversees various segments including Up, Mid and Down Stream, Electric, Gas Utilities, Mining, and "Green" Energy, managing a team distributed across multiple US offices. Prior to this role, Alistair founded and developed the non-marine property and non-marine energy division at Global Special Risks, achieving $3.5 million in revenue from 1997 to November 2009. Alistair also held the position of Vice President at Aon Risk Services from 1994 to 1997, specializing in Mining, Utility, and Energy accounts. Alistair holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry and Management Science from Swansea University, complemented by a foundational education at Cranbrook School.
