Colin Schatz

Colin Schatz is a Senior Software Engineer at Amyris since January 2022, and a Program Coordinator at ETR where responsibilities include co-authoring an NSF grant and leading curriculum design for computer science interventions aimed at novice students. With experience as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Mills College, Colin built Python scripting solutions for automated student evaluation and taught various computer science courses. Previous roles include instructing and directing the Honors Program at Las Positas College, contributing to a significant rise in the computer science program's enrollment, and serving as a Field Researcher at EDC, focused on tech outreach for youth of color. Colin has a Ph.D. in Education from Stanford University and has held multiple teaching and research positions at Stanford and other institutions, emphasizing computer science education and student learning dynamics.
