Mikhail Motornov has held a variety of roles in the personal care and beauty product industry. In 2007, they began as a research professor at Clarkson University. In 2011, they joined L'Oréal as an Associate Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist II, and Senior Scientist. In 2018, they became the Head of Skin Care and Personal Care Technology at Lonza. In 2021, they moved to Zymergen as an Associate Director of R&D Personal Care. Most recently, they began their current role as Director of Personal Care & Beauty Product Innovation at Amyris in 2022.
Mikhail Motornov earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from Technische Universität Dresden and their Master's degree in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology (MITHT).
