Paul Hill

Senior Vice-President, Process Development & Engineering at Amyris

Paul Hill has worked in the biotechnology industry for over 30 years. Theircareer began in 1992 at Johnson & Johnson as an Associate Scientist. Paul then moved to Chiron/Novartis in 1993 as a Scientist in Process Development. In 2007, they joined Amyris Biotechnologies as a Principal Scientist. In 2013, they were promoted to Director of Process Development at Amyris Inc. In 2014, they were promoted again to Vice President of Process Development and Engineering at Amyris, Inc. Finally, in 2022, they were promoted to Senior Vice President of Process Development and Engineering at Amyris. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for the development and transfer of fermentation, separation, purification, and chemical transformation processes for sesquiterpene-based products. Paul has also created and maintained cost models for opportunity assessment.

Paul Hill attended Dartmouth College from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemical Engineering. Paul then attended Thayer School of Engineering from 1990 to 1992, where they earned a Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering.
