Ana G. Mendez University
Dr. Kelvin Merced, EdD, LPC, is a seasoned academic and professional in the fields of education and counseling. Serving as a Professor at Ana G. Mendez University since 2000 and as a Catedrático Auxiliar at the Universidad de Puerto Rico since January 2014, Dr. Merced has contributed significantly to higher education. Dr. Merced holds extensive experience in governmental roles, including serving as the Chief of the Puerto Rico Department of Correction and Rehabilitation Academy and managing juvenile institutions since 1997. Additionally, Dr. Merced has worked as a counselor at APCP Puerto Rico since 1996 and has held adjunct professorships at Cambridge College and Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, a Master of Education in Counselor Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, complemented by professional certifications in child trauma and sexual assault management.

Ana G. Mendez University
The Ana G. Mendez University System is a not for profit institution in operations since 1949. With approximately 40,000 students it is the largest private university system in Puerto Rico. The Ana G. Mendez University System includes three traditional universities (Universidad del Turabo, Universidad Metropolitana, Universidad del Este) and a fully on-line University (AGM Virtual Campus); each one fully accredited by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education. In 2003, the Ana G. Mendez University System opened the Metro Orlando Campus in the state of Florida offering bachelors and masters degree programs from its universities in one campus and with a flexible schedule. Nowadays, the Ana G. Méndez University System is recognized for serving Hispanic adult students in the Continental United States with five campuses operating in the states of Florida, Maryland, Texas and the District of Columbia.
