Liesel Spangler

Liesel Spangler is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in political science and educational roles. Currently serving as Lead Data Scientist at Analyst Institute since April 2020, Liesel has previously held positions as Senior Data Scientist and Meta-analysis Senior Analyst. Prior experience includes a tenure at UC San Diego from September 2013 to November 2020, where Liesel contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher and Instructor, focusing on legislative responses to demographic changes using advanced statistical techniques. Liesel began a career in education as a Social Studies Teacher at Manheim Township School District, where five years were dedicated to effectively communicating complex concepts to high school students. Liesel holds a PhD in Political Science from UC San Diego, an MA from Villanova University, and a BA in International Politics from Penn State University.
