Sebastian V. Colom is a seasoned research scientist and engineer with extensive experience in electromechanical research and development, particularly in diagnostic systems and thermal protective systems technology at NASA Ames Research Center. Colom served as Lead Hardware Engineer for the Cornell University Autonomous Bicycle Team, where responsibilities included designing and maintaining electrical and hardware systems. Previous internships at IBM and NASA involved contributions to advanced autonomous vehicle applications and magnetic sensor design, respectively. Colom's foundational research experience includes exoplanet transit observation at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and hardware improvements for small satellites at Space Systems Design Studio. Colom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a concentration in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University.
