Gann Bierner

Gann Bierner is a Principal Search Engineer at Ancestry.com since May 2014, bringing extensive experience in natural language processing and machine learning from prior roles. From May 2011 to April 2014, Gann served as a Senior Scientist at Pearl.com, while from May 2008 to May 2011, Gann held the position of Director of Development for Search and Analysis at i365, a Seagate Company. Gann's earlier career includes leadership roles at InQuira, where Gann was the Director of Innovation, Architect/Head of the Innovation Group, and Senior Computer Scientist from 2000 to May 2008. Educationally, Gann earned a PhD in Informatics (Natural Language Processing) from The University of Edinburgh, an MSE in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Computer Science and English from Rice University.
