Sebastian Rivas

Sebastian Rivas has over 8 years of professional experience. Sebastian began their career in 2012 as the CEO and Cofounder of SunAdvice. In 2013, they worked as a Corporate Development Analyst at Rilab - Carlos Rivas Padilla Cia Ltda. In 2014, they were a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Grupo LOA SpA, where they developed an industry analysis report for investors. In 2016, they worked as an Analyst at National Bank Financial, where they were involved in financial advisory and underwriting services for Public Private Partnerships and Power Projects. In 2017, they worked as an Associate at HSBC Global Banking and Markets in the Infrastructure and Real Estate Group. In 2020, they joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Sr. Product Manager (Tech). Most recently, in 2019, they founded Andes STR, a PropTech that makes it easy for anyone to invest in Short-Term Rentals. Sebastian led the team through Polsky Center's New Venture Challenge, achieving 1st place in the largest competition to date, and closed a seed round oversubscribed 2.5x.

Sebastian Rivas has a diverse education history. Sebastian completed their high school at Colegio Tabancura in 2007. Sebastian then attended Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where they obtained an Electrical Engineering Diploma in 2014 and an Engineer's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2014. In 2019, they began pursuing a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, which they completed in 2021. Additionally, Sebastian has obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera, S3 Masterclass from A Cloud Guru, and Introduction to Cloud Computing from A Cloud Guru.
