Ishmael Williams

Ishmael Williams has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Marketing & Community Growth Lead at Andwise since July 2023. Prior to that, they served as a 2022-2023 Gilman Alumni Ambassador at the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program from July 2022 to July 2023. From February 2022 to July 2023, they worked as a Career Counselor at Potomac Job Corps Ctr. Ishmael also has experience as a Doctoral Diversity Scholar at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from July 2020 to July 2021. Additionally, they worked as a Work-Study Intern - Medical Support Assistant at the Veteran Administration from January 2016 to May 2019. Other roles include being an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a Health & Wellness Liaison at the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), a Research Fellow at the Young AfricanA Leadership Initiative Regional Leadership Center, a Summer Research Intern at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and a Summer Trainee & Research Assistant at Howard University Hospital.

Ishmael Williams earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science (Pre-Med) with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University. Prior to that, they attended Clayton State University for Dual Enrollment. Ishmael'shigh school education was completed at Forest Park High School. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a 2022-2023 Gilman Alumni Ambassador from the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program.
