Jamie MacKinnon

Senior Vice President at Anew

Jamie MacKinnon has extensive experience in the fields of sustainability management and carbon markets. They have held senior roles at various organizations, including Anew (formerly Bluesource), Molson Coors, Repsol, and Natsource.

At Anew, Jamie led an effort to explore a potential market opportunity in agricultural carbon and successfully built out a new service offering in Agri-carbon. They raised over $23M and enrolled hundreds of thousands of acres in their programs.

During their time at Molson Coors, Jamie managed corporate sustainability and was responsible for strategy development, stakeholder management, and target setting. They also supported global operations in reducing energy, carbon, and water consumption.

At Repsol, Jamie served as the Manager of the Carbon Unit and Program Manager for Carbon Markets. They led teams responsible for carbon market-related activities, including energy management, trading, and advocacy. They negotiated carbon finance projects and managed Repsol's carbon portfolio.

Additionally, Jamie has experience as a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto and the School of Industrial Organisation. They also worked as a consultant at Natsource, where they specialized in climate change and conducted research, client liaison, and policy analysis.

Jamie MacKinnon obtained a B.Comm in Management Economics in Industry & Finance from the University of Guelph between 1995 and 2000. In 2016, Jamie enrolled in Vermont Law and Graduate School, where they pursued a Masters of Environmental Law and Policy for three years until 2019. Additionally, Jamie has obtained several certifications, including a Day Skipper (Intermediate) Certification from the International Sail and Power Academy in June 2022, a CanSail 3 certification from Sail Canada | Voile Canada in April 2022, a Basic Cruising Certification from Sail Canada | Voile Canada in August 2020, Avalanche Safety Training Levels I and II from Avalanche Canada in January 2014, and a 1st Aid First Responder certification from Saint Johns Ambulance Service in January 2016.
