SVP, Bank Strategies at Angel Oak Capital Advisors

Dan Gentry is Senior Vice President of Bank Strategies at Angel Oak Capital, responsible for sales and business development efforts. In this role, Dan handles the relationship management of the firm’s regional and community bank credit facilities, and assists with sourcing buyers for the firm’s non-securitizable mortgage whole loans. He also serves as a liaison between banks and Angel Oak on various initiatives.

Dan joined Angel Oak in 2011 and previously led the Consulting division through significant expansion, from its roots as a provider of interest rate risk advisory services to its current mission to offering best-in-class asset management solutions, balance sheet advisory and risk compliance education to financial institutions.

Over the course of 30+ years in the financial services industry Dan has held a variety of sales and operations leadership roles. Prior to joining Angel Oak, Dan served as VP/Financial Institutions Group at Bayview Asset Management, a mortgage investment firm with approximately $14.7 billion in assets under management. Dan started his career in the financial services industry with First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo) serving nine+ years in bank operations management, marketing, and controllership roles.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University. His post-graduate education includes the Bank Administration Institute School of Controllership, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the School of Bank Marketing, University of Colorado-Boulder.
