Tobi Parra

Principal Design Assurance Engineer at AngioDynamics

Tobi Parra has over 20 years of work experience in various engineering and quality assurance roles. They started their career as an intern R&D Engineer at AngioDynamics in 1999. They then worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at CR Bard from 2000 to 2004, followed by a position as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Boston Scientific from 2004 to 2008. Parra then joined Navilyst Medical as a Design Assurance Engineer from 2008 to 2012.

Parra returned to AngioDynamics in 2012 and held the role of Principal Design Assurance Engineer until 2015. During this time, they were responsible for risk management, design verification, process and product qualification planning, and supporting new product commercialization. They also provided sustaining engineering support and served as a lead auditor for supplier and internal audits.

Following this, Parra served as the Quality Assurance Manager at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics from 2015 to 2017. They then resumed their position as Principal Design Assurance Engineer at AngioDynamics starting in 2017, where they continued to contribute to new product development, design change programs, and sustaining engineering efforts. They also supported design controls and risk management during third-party audits.

Tobi Parra obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1996 to 2000. Following that, Tobi pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from The College of Saint Rose, which was completed between 2001 and 2005. Additionally, Tobi acquired the certification as a Lead Auditor with Medical Device Focus (ISO 9001 and 13485) from AQS Management Systems, Inc in June 2004.
