Angkor Hospital for Children
Lina Saem Støy has been involved with AHC since 2006, when she first joined as a volunteer. Since then, she has provided support in a variety of ways, including building capacity within the organisation by developing leadership, advising on project management and health research – areas where she holds over 10 years of professional experience.
Lina’s understanding of the local language has played a pivotal role in allowing her to work closely with AHC staff. Lina co-founded the Cambodian Development Milestone Assessment Tool (cDMAT) with Hospital Director Dr Pheaktra, a project 10 years in the making with published and forthcoming research. Recently, Lina and AHC Medical Director and cardiologist Dr Pises published a study on the characteristics of rheumatic heart disease in Cambodia children.
Lina is a registered nurse with a Master’s in Public Health, and currently works as a trial manager and medical writer at a government institute in Denmark.
