Sharon Haste

Sharon Haste is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in healthcare management and policy development. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of the Border Restrictions Unit at the NT Department of Health since September 2017, Sharon oversees the COVID-19 hotline and Digital Unit, developing public policies in line with Chief Health Officer directives. With a strong background in border management, Sharon previously held roles such as Acting Chief Nurse and Midwife and Director of the Border Restrictions Unit. Additionally, Sharon has been a Childbirth Educator at Anglicare NT since 2010, empowering young parents through childbirth education. Earlier experience includes managing a child data linkage project at the Menzies School of Health Research, focusing on child health and related policy insights. Sharon holds a Master of Midwifery from Central Queensland University and a Master's degree in Arts-writing from James Cook University.
