Hugo Marais

Hugo Marais is an experienced water projects specialist currently working at Anglo American since June 2023. Prior to this role, Hugo served as a principal hydrogeologist at Advisian from April 2021 to June 2023 and held senior hydrogeologist positions at Klohn Crippen Berger between January 2019 and March 2021, and Umvoto Africa (Pty) Ltd from August 2017 to March 2018. Hugo's career began in hydrogeology with various roles at companies such as Schlumberger, ERM: Environmental Resources Management, and Golder Associates S.A., culminating in a principal/operations manager position at Schlumberger from May 2012 to July 2016. Hugo holds a Master of Science degree in Geology/Earth Science from Stellenbosch University, earned between 2000 and 2001.
