Alex Houben

Alex Houben is an experienced maritime professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Managing Director at Anglo - Eastern Ship Management (NL) B.V. since November 2011, Alex has also held roles as General Manager and Sr. Marine Superintendent & FPD Supervisor, focusing on QHSE, crewing, and operations. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Cargo Superintendent at Flinter, where responsibilities involved planning and supervising global transports across various industries, and a management role at Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) Ship Management Europe B.V. as Manager of the Marine & Crewing Department. Alex began the maritime career as Captain at Spliethoff from 1991 to 2007, ensuring vessel safety and maintenance. Educational qualifications include a Master all Ships, Maritime Studies degree from Maritiem Instituut "De Ruijter" and various certifications from DNV, Lloyds, and Nova College.
