Throughout this tenure, Desmond has held various leadership positions, including VP Business Service for Global Greenfields Exploration and VP Finance for the same division, managing significant budgets and leading cross-functional teams in a global context. Desmond's strategic initiatives have included restructuring efforts that streamlined operations and improved efficiency while adhering to financial targets. Prior to joining AngloGold Ashanti, Desmond was the Director of Business Development at Anglo American - Industrial Minerals, where a notable achievement was developing the first quarry in China with a substantial investment.
