Animal Humane New Mexico
Adena Robertson has a strong background in veterinary medicine. Adena began their career in 2007 as a Veterinarian at El Rincon Pet Hospital and later worked as a Veterinarian Volunteer at HELPING PAWS ACROSS BORDERS. In 2014, Adena became the Medical Director at 4 Paws Pet Hospital, where they stayed until 2022. During this time, they also served as a Regional Director at Thrive Pet Healthcare from March to December 2022. Currently, Adena holds the position of Chief Veterinary Officer at Animal Humane New Mexico, starting in December 2022.
Adena Robertson obtained their Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, where they attended from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from New Mexico State University, which they completed from 1998 to 2002.

Our mission is to support and improve the lives of New Mexico’s cats and dogs through sheltering, adoptions, humane education, and veterinary services. Animal Humane serves more than 10,000 homeless and at-risk pets annually. We have proactively developed a full range of programs and services dedicated to helping people connect with a lifelong companion and working with them to keep that relationship balanced and happy.
