Bala Ramachandran

Bala Ramachandran has a diverse background in data analytics and engineering. Bala is the Founder and Chief Solutions Architect at Anjane Technologies, where they collaborate with Spark Data Analytics LLC to provide data analytics solutions. Bala has experience working with data engineering toolkits such as Fivetran, Informatica Cloud, DBT, and Snowflake, as well as Informatica Power Center, IBM DataStage, and Talend ETL tools.

Prior to Anjane Technologies, Bala worked as a Senior Solutions Architect at Spark Data Analytics LLC, where they implemented data solutions using Python, Airbyte, DBT, and Snowflake. Bala also converted traditional ETL pipelines to cloud-based solutions using Python, DBT, and Snowflake, and gained expertise in "dbt" macros, Snowflake snowpipes, Snowflake UDF/Procedures, and creating new Snowflake dbt plug-ins.

In previous roles, Bala served as a Senior Engineer at Tenna, working in the IoT domain for the construction industry and utilizing technologies such as Docker, NodeJS, ExpressJS, and AWS. Bala also worked as a Data Engineering Lead at MOKA Analytics, focusing on onboarding CPG clients to the WinningModel data analytics tool and working with Informatica Cloud, Azure VMs, Azure SQL Database, and Python.

Bala's experience also includes positions at New York University, where they worked as a Data Engineering Lead and Certified Scrum Master, leading various data warehousing and business intelligence projects. Bala utilized tools such as Airflow, Docker Containers, Apache Spark/PySpark, Databricks, and Snowflake, along with Python and pandas.

Earlier in their career, Bala worked as a Senior Data & BI Solutions Architect at New York University, building business intelligence datamarts and designing data models for complex cohort analysis. Bala also served as a Senior Project Manager and Manager - Projects at Cognizant, leading data warehousing projects and building high-performing teams.

Bala's work experience also includes roles at HSBC Software, Hexaware, and Covansys, where they gained experience as a Team Leader, Software Engineer, and Consultant, respectively.

Bala Ramachandran holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Madras, which they obtained from 1997 to 2002. Bala later pursued an MBA in Systems & Marketing from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology - SMU, completing it in the years 2004 to 2009. In 2015, Bala Ramachandran attended NYU Stern School of Business, where they studied Business Analytics Inside Out with a focus on data analytics. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance in December 2017 and Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite 11g Essentials from Oracle in 2013.
