Heather Leszczynski is an experienced professional with a diverse background in development, engagement, and education. Currently serving as the Chief Development and Engagement Officer at Ann Arbor YMCA since July 2024, Heather focuses on financial development activities including capital campaigns and grant management, as well as marketing and community engagement. Heather has been involved with the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club since 1994 as a Figure Skating Instructor and Hockettes Coach, leading nationally recognized synchronized skating teams since 2005. Previous roles include Executive Director at Cascades Humane Society, where management of fundraising and strategic planning was essential, and Assistant Director for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment. In earlier positions, Heather held roles at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital, and Washtenaw County Public Works Division. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and Behavior and a Secondary Teaching Certification in Environmental Studies and Earth Science from the University of Michigan.
