Andrei Smirnov

Andrei Smirnov has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Andrei worked at Anna Money as the Head of Data Science, where they led a team of Data Scientists and Analysts and focused on developing the company's data culture and accelerating the time to market for AI applications. Prior to that, they were a Senior Data Scientist at the same company, where they played a key role in developing a digital admin assistant for SMEs and was responsible for the entire ML pipeline.

Andrei also worked at STC group as a Researcher (NLP) and later as a Junior Researcher. During this time, they worked on various projects related to language modeling, acoustic modeling, ASR confidence estimation, and chatbots. Andrei'snotable projects include increasing the accuracy of a Kazakh short text classifier, creating a chatbot for internal employees, developing a grammar-independent confidence estimation algorithm for ASR, improving the quality of ASR utterance-level confidence estimation, and accelerating the implementation of an RNN language model with cuda.

Earlier in their career, Andrei worked as a Research Assistant at Chebyshev Lab, Saint Petersburg State University.

Andrei Smirnov began their education at Saint Petersburg State University in 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. Andrei completed their undergraduate studies in this field in 2010. Following this, they continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics between 2010 and 2012. Andrei's academic journey then led him to enroll as a PhD student at Saint Petersburg State University in the field of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from 2012 to 2014.
