Maureen McMahon

Maureen McMahon, PhD, serves as the STEM Coordinator for Anne Arundel County Public Schools since August 2010, where leadership includes managing six STEM magnet programs that engage over 2,000 students. Previous roles include Deputy Superintendent for Academics & Strategic Initiatives and Assistant Superintendent for Advanced Studies & Programs, focusing on curriculum development, equity initiatives, and academic achievement. With a strong background in higher education, including tenure as an Associate Professor and Department Chair at California State University, Long Beach, and an Assistant Professor at UC Davis, Maureen has made significant contributions to science education, workforce development, and program design. Maureen holds a BS in Chemistry and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland, and a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Villanova University.
