Daniel Emerling

Daniel Emerling serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Research at Annexon Biosciences since August 2023. With extensive experience in therapeutic discovery and development, Daniel has been a Principal at Biosimplify LLC since 2009, advising start-ups and funds, including Flatiron Bio. Prior to joining Annexon, Daniel held positions as a Consultant and Founder at Atreca, Inc., where Daniel also served as Senior Vice President of Research until September 2023. Additionally, Daniel was the Senior Director of Pharmacology at both Nuon Therapeutics (2010-2011) and Renovis/Evotec (2000-2009). Daniel holds a PhD in neurobiology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, with further education at The University of Tokyo and Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I) in France.
