Sheryl-Rose is a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from the University of the Pacific. She has a passion for working with individuals with exceptional needs as her brother was diagnosed with autism. She was inspired to pursue a career in the field of speech-language pathology after witnessing the progress her brother made with speech and language services and the impact SLP services had on her family and brother. Over time, she has gained valuable skills from supporting her brother, her time as a special day classes volunteer, student tutor, and an SLPA. She has worked with individuals ranging from twenty-months to twenty-two years of age with varying abilities in a private clinic, therapeutic preschool, public school, and non-public school settings.
Sheryl-Rose continues to take workshops, training, and classes to support her professional development. She recently received her assistive technology certificate from California State University Northridge in December 2020 to ensure lessons are accessible and engaging for the students. Currently, Sheryl-Rose is a full-time graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Sheryl-Rose says she is “extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work closely with her supervising SLP, Anova SLPs, OTs, and the entire Anova team.” During her leisure time, she enjoys exploring new places and going on road trips and with her friends and family.
