Jeff Bertram

Jeff received his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California. His thesis work used biochemical techniques to determine the mechanism for loading the accessory proteins of DNA Polymerase III onto DNA. He received an NIH training grant to study the fidelity of DNA polymerases and established an assay that directly measures the fidelity of nucleotide incorporation using competition between nucleotides. He has published 13 peer reviewed articles in journals such as Nature, Nature Communications, and Biochemistry.
