Originally from NY/ PA, Rob obtained his B.S. in Biochemistry at Ithaca College where he studied the role of post-translational modifications of RNA Polymerase II on gene expression and chromatin remodeling. Rob then decided to bring his east coast slang to the west coast to earn his PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Rob's doctoral work in the Savage lab focused primarily on the discovery and biochemical characterization of a new family of bacterial organelles known as encapsulins. While Rob finds joy and zen in molecular cloning, he realizes it is a huge bottleneck to research and decided to join Ansa as the company's resident protein whisperer.
