David Poulard

David Poulard, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Application Engineer at Ansys since May 2022, focusing on explicit dynamics simulation software, specifically LS-DYNA. Prior to this role, David held significant positions at CEESAR, where responsibilities included leading the Computational Biomechanics Research Group and serving as a Senior Research Scientist, concentrating on human body models for vehicle crashworthiness and injury risk assessment. David's earlier experience includes roles as a Research Scientist and Research Associate at the UVA Center for Applied Biomechanics and a Graduate Research Assistant at Ifsttar, where research involved low deceleration pulse testing on volunteers. David earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 between 2009 and 2012, specializing in biomechanics, automotive crash dynamics, occupant safety, and computational methods.
