Dr. Steven Xia

Dr. Steven (Yu) Xia, PhD CEng MIMechE, is a seasoned Senior R&D Engineer specializing in fluids at Ansys since October 2018, focusing on combustion and multiphase flow CFD. With prior roles as an R&D Engineer and Application Software Developer, Dr. Xia is also a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and a full Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Xia completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, where research focused on CFD-LES simulation of industrial gas turbine combustors and combustion instability. Educational achievements include a Master of Research and an MSc in advanced computational methods, complemented by experience as a graduate teaching assistant and conference organizer. Additional experiences include internships and research roles at Siemens, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and The Combustion Institute, further enriching expertise in the field.
