Marc Lemonnier

Founding CEO at Antabio

Marc Lemonnier has a long and varied work experience. From 2001 to 2005, they were a Research Associate at Centro Investigaciones Biologicas CSIC Madrid, where they designed and conducted experiments in the areas of plasmid biology, bacterial resistance to stress and bacterial toxin-antitoxin systems. Marc also supervised graduate students, laboratory technicians and interns and coordinated collaborations with academic partners. In 2005, they became the Group Leader of Host-Pathogen Interactions at Inserm, where they designed, conducted and supervised research on the genetics of the host-pathogen interactions underlying severe bacterial diseases. In 2009, they became the Founding CEO of Antabio, a private biopharmaceutical company developing novel and highly differentiated antibacterial treatments for critical priority pathogens with a particular focus on life-threatening respiratory infections. Finally, in 2016, they became an Officer at BEAM Alliance, Biotechs of Europe innovating in Anti-Microbial Resistance, where they represented European small and medium-sized biopharmaceutical companies involved in developing innovative products to tackle antimicrobial resistance.

Marc Lemonnier obtained their PhD in Microbiology & Biotechnology from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France between 1993 and 1998.
