Marcelo Abreu has extensive experience in academia and telecommunications. As a member of the Academic Advisory Council at Universidad de Montevideo since 2005, Marcelo also teaches Linear Systems 1 and 2, as well as the Final Year Project. In a parallel career at ANTEL, starting in 2001, Marcelo has held various managerial roles, including Strategy Marketing Manager for Portability and Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing product and promotion teams. Marcelo's expertise also encompasses transportation engineering, having coordinated numerous engineering projects and implemented solutions in areas such as SDH, IP/MPLS, and fiber optics. Prior experience includes consulting for ITC S.A. and positions of increasing responsibility at ANTEL beginning in 1993 as a student engineer. Marcelo holds an Electrical Engineering degree in Telecommunications from Universidad de la República and an executive management degree from CCA.
