Jan-Marie Petersen

Jan-Marie Petersen is a seasoned UX/UI designer with extensive experience in leading product design for educational technology. Currently serving as a Staff UX/UI Designer at Anthology Inc since May 2023, Jan-Marie focuses on crafting innovative AI tools and strategies that simplify complex tasks. Previously at Blackboard from November 2019 to May 2023, Jan-Marie led the design of the award-winning AI Course Design Assistant and managed a team to enhance the flagship course management platform. Other notable roles at Blackboard included significant contributions to the platform ecosystem and business intelligence tools. Jan-Marie's career began at Northwestern University, where as Assistant Director of User Experience, leadership in design strategies improved content management and outreach to international audiences. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Interactive Design from Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Luther College.
