Ryan Soklaski

Ryan Soklaski is a Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic since February 2023, specializing in advancing machine learning techniques. Prior to this role, Ryan contributed significantly to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Course Creator and Lead Instructor at the Beaver Works Summer Institute from July 2016 to February 2023, where the CogWorks course was developed to instruct students in state-of-the-art machine learning and data science. Ryan's earlier experience includes serving as Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, leading research on computer vision models and physics-informed machine learning, as well as developing the open-source hydra-zen Python library and responsible AI toolbox. Ryan also held positions at Washington University in St. Louis, including Graduate Research Assistant, where dissertation research focused on supercooled liquids and glasses, and Lecturer, recognized with the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Physics and dual Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Saint Louis University.
