Rebecca Byrnes

Rebecca Byrnes is a professional with extensive experience in climate change policy, legal analysis, and education. Currently serving as Deputy Director for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative and pursuing a part-time PhD at The Australian National University focused on fossil fuel lock-in in Southeast Asia, Rebecca has previously held positions such as Legal and Communications Adviser for the Least Developed Countries Group at UN Climate Negotiations and Policy Analyst at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change & the Environment. Further experience includes project management in renewable energy at the Department of Planning and Environment, roles in academia at the University of Tasmania, and a research fellowship at the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development.
