Melody Okiri serves as the Environmental and Social Safeguard Associate at Virunga Power since January 2020, contributing to stakeholder engagement and the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) while managing the Grievance Redress Mechanism. As the Country Representative for the African Circular Economy Network since April 2019, Melody advocates for circular economy principles. Previous experience includes a role as Project Assistant for the Sustainable Agriculture Information Initiative in Turkana County, where Melody conducted training for project beneficiaries, and an internship in Safety, Health and Environment at Kenya Power, focusing on environmental impact assessments and resettlement plans. Early experience includes monitoring noise pollution with Nairobi City County. Melody holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from The Technical University of Kenya, obtained in 2018.
